FAQs

What would it cost for a tour?

Since everything we do is bespoke to each group, the actual cost is based upon duration, numbers of participants and preferred sporting destination of choice. If you make a Tour Enquiry today we will send you your bespoke proposal and quote within 72hrs.

Do you offer supervisory free places to the tour organiser?

Yes. If your group consists of at least 10 pupils, the group leader is offered a supervisory free place including travel, meals and accommodation. We offer special discounted rates for extra adults when the adult: pupil ratio is higher than 1:12 and 1:10 thereafter.

Responsibility for the group during our stay is with whom?

Teachers or lead coaches are always fully responsible for all party members under the age of 18 for the duration of the tour. You are therefore required to obtain parental authority from the parent/guardian of every travelling minor before departure. Travellers over the age of 18 should have a letter of consent from their parent/guardian if they are to be granted free time out of the immediate supervision of the group leaders.

What if we have an injury or sickness in the group?

Up until 31st December 2020, the UK had a reciprocal healthcare agreement with EEA (European Economic Area) countries (including Spain, Portugal, Italy, Netherlands and France). This has now been replaced by the GHIC (Global Health Insurance Card). Each member of your group should obtain a new UK Global Health Insurance Card (EHIC) online https://www.ghic.org.uk/Internet/startApplication.do

The GHIC gives access to state-provided medical treatment only, and you'll be treated on the same basis as an 'insured' person living in the country you're visiting. Remember, this might not cover all the things you'd expect to get free of charge from the NHS in the UK. You may have to make a contribution to the cost of your care if you do not have private medical cover.

What is the baggage allowance?

EcoSports Tours includes the cost of one bag per person for every member of our travelling groups. Checked-in baggage must weigh no more than 15kgs on most airlines (23kgs on long haul flights). Passengers are typically permitted no more than 10kgs of hand luggage on board. Hand luggage should not exceed the maximum dimensions of 55x40x20cm. In our experience, baggage allowances are ample for most travelling groups. Your exact baggage allowance will be specified in your Final Tour Pack and any specialist request can be facilitated (eg. hockey equipment)

Will we have a Guide or Tour Representative with us?

Yes. Unless otherwise advised your EcoSport Tour Representative will remain with you for the full duration of your sport tour. He or she is responsible for managing and co-ordinating your entire schedule and will meet you upon arrival at your destination.

What standard of teams will my players play against?

Our tour programmes are tailored to match your own groups level. We are highly experienced in dealing with groups of all ages and abilities. Let us know the ability level of your group and we will ensure that the host clubs or schools are aware of the standard. On arrival, the coaching staff at the clubs or schools, as well as our trained Tour Representatives will make an early assessment of your players and will tailor their coaching style and friendly games to ensure a suitable match.

Will we get to watch a ‘live’ match?

Yes, if match schedules permit, we can purchase tickets on your group's behalf. If your preferred club is playing away, we may be able to arrange group tickets to watch another top professional fixture within easy driving distance.
