Aviron Bayonnais Rugby Club is the pride of Bayonne, the capital of the Basque Country. The clubs mirrors the unique spirit of Bayonne’s inhabitants: active and fun-loving. Biarritz Olympique Pays Basque, its local rival is also one of the great French teams. Champion of France in 2002, ‘05 and ‘06, finalists of the Heineken Cup in 2006 and 2010, & winners of the 2012 European Challenge Cup.
All the shop windows in these adjoining towns adorn the colours of their teams! As for the third half, it is played around the numerous bars & restaurants, where supporters make and redo the match, argue and conjecture endless.
